SHARON, Pa. — Mercer County Coroner J. Bradley McGonigle III ruled accidental the death of William Edward Schell III, who died in a motorcycle-van crash around noon today on state Route 318.
According to McGonigle, Schell, 19, of Landay Lane, Farrell, was traveling east on Route 318 in Shenango Township when his motorcycle struck the rear left side of a van that had just pulled out into the eastbound land of Route 318 from the southbound exit of Interstate 60.
McGonigle pronounced Schell dead at the scene at 12:45 p.m. The cause was blunt force trauma to the head and chest.
Further details about the crash were not available. The Southwest Mercer County Regional Police Department is investigating.
