City woman cited for child endangering
YOUNGSTOWN — Police said they filed a citation for child endangerment against an East Warren Avenue woman whose 2-year-old son was found wandering around outside unaccompanied during a thunderstorm tonight.
Police said a woman in the 100 block of Evergreen Avenue noticed the child in a park across the street from her home and took him to her porch because of the thunderstorm.
She waited for an hour, she said, but no one came looking for him, so she called police. Officers said they found the child’s mother, Rickkiesha R. Bankston 22, at her Evergreen home. She told them she had been asleep and didn’t know her son had left the house, police said.
