Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield cutting 25 jobs here

YOUNGSTOWN —  Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield is cutting 25 jobs at its Youngstown office by the end of the year.

The positions are being moved to an office in Louisville, Ky., where the same work is conducted, said Kim Ashley, a company spokeswoman.

Other local Anthem operations will not be affected, she said. “We are committed to staying there,” she said.

Anthem has more than 300 employees at two buildings on Market Street and an office in Canfield.

The work being moved involves taking application information from brokers who are enrolling small employers.
