Edwards Live | The presidential candidate calls Youngstown a "national model"

Tuesday, July 17, 2007

YOUNGSTOWN — Presidential hopeful John Edwards described Youngstown as a "national model" for other Rust Belt cities to follow.

Edwards of North Carolina, a former U.S. senator, said the city is making a successful transformation, specifically pointing to the high-tech companies at the Youngstown Business Incubator.

Edwards, a Democrat, heard from local business officials today at the incubator about how community and business leaders are focusing their attention on making the facility a state-of-the-art high-tech facility.

"This is the kind of transformation we need to make in cities like this all over the country," Edwards said.
