Man threatens his mother; charged with menacing

LIBERTY — A local man has been charged with aggravated menacing after police say he threatened his mother with a gun when she disturbed his sleep.

According to police reports, Whitney Wiseman, 19, of New Road, was sleeping in his mother’s Holly Drive apartment Tuesday evening when his mother disrupted his slumber while moving items to another apartment in the building.

Reports say the woman told officers Wiseman became “enraged,” pulled out a semi-automatic gun and threatened to pistol whip the woman. He also threatened to shoot her, reports said.

Wiseman was arrested when he returned to the apartment later in the day. Police did confiscate a firearm from him.

Wiseman, who is free on a personal recognizance bond, has been banned from the Holly Drive property.
