County sues male sex offender

WARREN — The Trumbull County prosecutor’s office has filed legal action against a man classified as a sexual child-victim predator for living 10 feet from the Outdoor Education Center operated by the Lakeview school district.

The action was filed in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court against William Lawrence of 76 Larry Lane, who was convicted in Trumbull County in 1997 of corruption of a minor and is classified as a sexually oriented offender and/or a child-victim predator, according to the suit.

Larry Lane is just south of the Mosquito Lake Dam on state Route 305.

The suit says Lawrence registered with the Trumbull County Sheriff’s Department on March 19, 2007, and indicated that he had moved to the residence.

The action asks a judge to require Lawrence to move from the residence because Ohio law prevents him from living within 1,000 feet of any school premises.
