No go at Pennsylvania's Moraine State Park

PORTERSVILLE, Pa. — Boaters and swimmers formed a line this morning into Pennsylvania's Moraine State Park — and had to turn around this morning.

It's a reality around Pennsylvania today as the first day of a partial government shutdown takes effect due to a budget stalemate.

More than a dozen vehicles were turning away at one point late this morning at Moraine. The would-be park goers said they were unaware of the closing due to the fiscal stalemate. There is no word out of Harrisburg this morning of any progress.

Jay Tindall from Harmony, Pa., was going to do some physical therapy in the park lake when he was turned away.

Signs at the entrances informed people of the park closure and why. There were no state personnel anywhere to be seen.

Come back later today to vindy.com and to Tuesday's Vindicator for complete coverage. Post to this story if the Pennsylvania closures have affected you in any way.
