Tentative agreement at McDonald Steel

LIBERTY — McDonald Steel and its 96 members of the joint Teamster and United Steel Workers of America unions have reached a tentative agreement on a new contract.

Barry Brooks, human resources director, said the two sides negotiated until about 2:30 a.m. Sunday before reaching the tentative agreement. The previous five-year contract with the union expired at midnight Saturday.

Brooks said he is unsure when union members will vote on the agreement and could not release any additional information until after union members have voted.
