Accused stalker breaks into Campbell fire department


CAMPBELL — A local woman broke into the fire department and used an emergency hotline in attempts contact the firefighter she is accused of stalking, according to police reports.

Marina Tatarciuc, 46, of Van Buren Street, was arrested Sunday on multiple counts including two felonies.

Tatarciuc fled firefighters on foot Saturday after she was observed hiding between Engine #4 and Ladder #1 in a restricted area of the fire department, police reports said. She had previously been forbidden from fire department grounds and from contact with the firefighter, reports said.

Police apprehended Tatarciuc the next day after she was found near the firefighter at Campbell’s City Fest. She is charged with breaking and entering by stealth, disrupting public services, menacing by stalking and criminal trespassing. She is being held without bond until her court hearing at 9 a.m. tomorrow, according to police reports.
