More and more people are demanding that cell phones carry more and more snazzy features: Internet, music, movies, messages and more.

There’s been a quantum leap in technology, considering cell phones couldn’t even fit into a jacket pocket when they came in to use in 1983.

People who didn’t grow up around cell phones may find themselves having to catch up with the technology. And, as cell phone technology increases, so do the prices.

Some view the added extras as unnecessary features for a device originally meant for one simple task— making telephone calls.
