ATLANTA -- Marian Hossa delivered the decisive goal in a shootout as the Atlanta Thrashers edged the New Jersey Devils in a matchup of division leaders. The Thrashers ended a slump with three power-play goals, including two by Ilya Kovalchuk. Atlanta earned its fourth consecutive home win over New Jersey.

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Daniel Briere netted his second career hat trick, and Jason Pominville and Thomas Vanek added a goal and an assist each to give Buffalo a victory.
Maple Leafs 4, Hurricanes 1
RALEIGH, N.C. -- Nik Antropov scored two goals in the third period to lead Toronto. Bates Battaglia also scored, Tomas Kaberle had an empty-net goal and an assist and Andrew Raycroft stopped 28 shots for the Maple Leafs, who kept the Hurricanes scoreless in the final two periods. Toronto held a 38-29 shots advantage and won for the fourth time in five games. Ray Whitney scored and Cam Ward stopped 34 shots for the Hurricanes, who have dropped four of five.

UNIONDALE, N.Y. -- Henrik Zetterberg capped Detroit's big rally by scoring at 2:57 of overtime and giving Detroit a win. Detroit, which hasn't been shut out this season, trailed 3-0 at the start of the third period but quickly erased that deficit and set the stage for Zetterberg's winner. Tomas Holmstrom, Niklas Kronwall and Dan Cleary also scored for Detroit, which got 16 saves from Dominik Hasek. Mike Sillinger, Shawn Bates and Jason Blake had goals for the Islanders, who have points in four straight games (2-0-2).
Lightning 4, Flyers 3
PHILADELPHIA -- Vincent Lecavalier scored in regulation and then added a goal in the shootout as Tampa Bay extended Philadelphia's franchise-worst home losing streak to 11. Martin St. Louis, and Ruslan Fedotenko also scored for the Lightning, who have won six straight road games. Brad Richards scored the other goal in the 2-0 shootout.

OTTAWA -- Dany Heatley scored his 31st goal and Martin Gerber made 35 saves to lead Ottawa. Heatley gave Ottawa its second two-goal lead 10:31 into the second, scoring on a power play less than a minute and a half after Washington cut the lead to 2-1 on Alexander Ovechkin's 4-on-4 goal. Ovechkin took over the league lead with his 32nd goal. Daniel Alfredsson and Jason Spezza scored in the first for Ottawa. Donald Brashear scored his second goal of the season for the Capitals.

ST. LOUIS -- Pierre-Marc Bouchard's second goal snapped a third-period tie, helping Minnesota beat St. Louis. Pavol Demitra scored twice, including an empty-netter, to help the Wild win for the fifth time in six road games.
Avalanche 4, Predators 3
DENVER -- Andrew Brunette and Wojtek Wolski each had a goal and an assist, and Peter Budaj stopped 34 shots to help Colorado beat streaking Nashville. Tyler Arnason had a goal, and Joe Sakic added two assists.
