Ghindia achieves scoring milestone



LaBrae and Hubbard also won TAC contest.
LIBERTY -- Elizabeth Ghindia scored 22 points as Champion High School posted a 48-30 victory over Liberty in a Trumbull Athletic Conference game in the Liberty gymnasium.
Ghindia, who was 12 of 14 from the foul line scored her 1,000th career point. She now has 1,006.
Liberty (12-4, 7-3) took a 6-3 lead in the first quarter, but the Golden Flashes (11-5) pulled ahead 16-11 by halftime and they held a 30-22 lead heading into the final period.
Heather Beachy chipped in with 16 points. Denika led the Leopards with nine points and Brittany Armour with eight points.
LaBrae 47, Girard 46
LEAVITTSBURG -- Angelica Pugh drove the length of the floor and scored a field goal with 4.4 seconds left to lift LaBrae to the win in a TAC game.
The game was tied at the half, 24-24, but LaBrae carried a 37-31 lead into the final quarter.
However, Girard moved ahead on Cynthia Wilkes' goal with 14.45 seconds left, 46-45, before Pugh countered with the game-winner for the Vikings.
Pugh finished with 16 points while Peggy Nichols added 12 for LaBrae (3-13, 1-9 TAC).
Wilkes wound up with 12 points to lead Girard (3-13, 1-9 TAC), while Ashley Palmer and Adrienne Stevenson added nine apiece.
Hubbard 45,Newton Falls 32
HUBBARD -- The Eagles led 25-15 at halftime and the Tigers couldn't recover
Sophie Paddock paced the Eagles with 14 points. Brittany Bullock finished with 11. Emily Montgomery paced the Tigers with nine.
Madison 61,Warren Harding 47
WARREN -- Madison (12-4) rushed out to a 15-7 lead in the first quarter and it held a 32-21 lead at intermission.
Janet Daughters and Katie Oberstar each scored 12 points for Madison. Kamela Bender sparked the Raiders (4-11) with 14 points.
