Howland school wins Prep Bowl

NILES -- Trumbull County Educational Service Center, 6000 Youngstown-Warren Road, recently completed its annual Elementary Prep Bowl competition, which engaged pupils in various grade levels to answers questions in all areas of study.
Howland Middle School won the elementary competition. Team members are: Mitesh Mehta, captain, and Tyler Bronson, Matt Thompson and Stephen Kuhn. Alternate members were Dylan Bronson and Brian Spaeth. Jacki Potashnik and Sarah Buzulencia are coaches.
Howland Mines Elementary School was the elementary runner-up. Team members are Matt Headland, captain, and Isabelle Hamilton, Tommy Gregory, Nikhil Nadler, Jerry Kovacich, Kurt Lewis and Heba Mahjoub. Jenifer Studer is coach.
Junior high prep bowl competion for seventh and eighth grades took place Jan. 23 and high school competition for ninth through 12th grades will be Tuesday.
