Top-ranked Duke still unbeaten after 73-60 win over Florida St.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Alison Bales scored 15 points and Carrem Gay had 14 to help top-ranked Duke remain undefeated with a 73-60 victory over Florida State on Thursday night.
The 6-foot-7 Bales also had nine rebounds, and Gay scored 12 first-half points in leading the Blue Devils a 36-28 lead at the break.
Duke (21-0, 6-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) showed no signs of a letdown after Monday's 74-70 win at fourth-ranked Tennessee, pulling away from the Seminoles late in the first half. The Blue Devils and North Carolina are tied for the ACC lead.
Gay, who also contributed eight rebounds for Duke, scored a pair of baskets in the final 2:13 of the first half to spark an 8-1 run after Florida State closed to 28-27 on Britany Miller's 3-point play.
Alicia Gladden led the Seminoles (15-5, 4-1) with 17 points and Miller added 14.
Duke, with five players in double figures, led by as many as 17 at 51-34 on Joy Cheek's layup that capped a 13-2 run with 13:33 left and the Blue Devils enjoyed a double-digit advantage the rest of the game.

CLEMSON, S.C. -- Kristi Toliver had 20 points and went 6-for-6 on 3-pointers to lead Maryland to its sixth straight victory over Clemson.
Maryland (21-1, 5-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) is off to its best start in school history, breaking the tie with the 1991-92 team that opened 20-1.
Toliver was a perfect on five 3-point attempts in the first half as the Terps (21-1, 5-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) built a 23-point lead.
No. 4 Tennessee 67, No. 15 Vanderbilt 57
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Sidney Spencer scored a career-high 26 points, and Tennessee pulled out the victory.
The Lady Vols wanted to avoid a hangover coming off Monday night's 74-70 loss to top-ranked Duke. Last year, they followed up with a loss to unranked Kentucky. Their instate rival and a crowd of 12,009 -- many wearing Tennessee orange -- helped them bounce back this time.
Tennessee (18-2, 5-0 Southeastern Conference) handed the Commodores (17-3, 4-1) their first loss at home this season but the 12th straight in this series. The Lady Vols relied on their defense, forcing Vandy into a season-high 27 turnovers that Tennessee turned into 29 points.
No. 8 LSU 70, Arkansas 53
BATON ROUGE, La. -- Sylvia Fowles had 13 points, 13 rebounds and two blocks, giving LSU an advantage inside.
Quianna Chaney scored 15 and Ashley Thomas 11 for the Lady Tigers (19-2, 5-1 SEC), who have won four straight and 14 of their last 15 games.
Lauren Ervin scored 16 for Arkansas (18-4, 3-3), which lost for the first time in four games. Donica Cosby added 15.
No. 12 Purdue 72, Northwestern 30
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Lindsay Wisdom-Hylton scored 17 points and Erin Lawless had 11 points and 11 rebounds in Purdue's victory.
Katie Gearlds scored 14 points and Lakisha Freeman added 10 for the Boilermakers (19-3, 8-0 Big Ten).
Nadia Bibbs led Northwestern (6-15, 0-8) with 15 points.
No. 14 Georgia 69, No. 22 Mississippi 60
ATHENS, Ga. -- Tasha Humphrey had 32 points and 14 rebounds in leading Georgia over Mississippi, handing the Rebels their first Southeastern Conference loss.
Georgia (17-4, 4-2) led 53-49 lead with 4:42 to play when Humphrey scored 12 consecutive points to build a 65-55 lead with 39 seconds left.
Reserve Megan Darrah added 16 points, hitting four of six 3-pointers.
Ashley Awkward led Ole Miss (16-5, 5-1) with 15 points, and Armintie Price added 11 points and 11 rebounds.
