Lisbon's 1-2 punch nets 12th triumph



Caitlin Glenn and Erica Sims powered a comeback 50-46 win over United.
HANOVERTON -- Caitlin Glenn scored 19 points, including 6-for-6 from the free throw line, to lead the Lisbon High girls basketball team to a 50-46 come-from-behind victory over United in an Inter-Tri-County League game on Thursday.
Erica Sims added 15 points and 13 rebounds for Lisbon (12-3, 7-2), which pulled into a tie in the conference standings behind one-loss Crestview.
Lisbon hit 13-for-18 from the line and outscored United by 18-10 in the third quarter to take control.
Maggie Sell scored 14 points while Lindsay Firth had 11 points and 11 rebounds for United (10-4, 7-2), which made just 3-for-16 from the free-throw line.
Crestview 63, Mineral Ridge 48
NEW WATERFORD -- The Rebels (13-2, 8-1 ITCL Tier One) built a commanding 31-16 lead by halftime and the Rams (4-11, 1-8) never seriously threatened.
Elyse Mongillo scored 24 points and had eight assists for the Rebels. Chelsea Bowker added 13 points and seven assists. Brittany Bowker chipped in with 13 points and grabbed 20 rebounds. Hillary Phillis had five steals and seven rebounds.
Brooke Shaffer paced the Rams with 17 points. Heather Reinhart and Sarah Garland chipped in with 12 and 11 respectively.
Jackson-Milton 36, Western Reserve 32
The Bluejays (10-5, 6-3 ITCL Tier Two) held a 31-30 lead after three quarters and held on for the victory.
Liz Hughes sparked the Bluejays with 11 points and she pulled down 13 rebounds. Carrie Foil added nine points and she had 10 rebounds, four assists and four steals.
Ellie Sanders led the Blue Devils with 11 points and she grabbed 11 rebounds. Lainey Kekic chipped in with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Columbiana 38, South Range 32
NORTH LIMA -- The Clippers (9-2, 6-3 ITCL Tier One) trailed the Raiders (6-8, 2-5) at halftime, but pushed ahead with a 15-10 spurt in the third quarter.
Krista Johnson sparked the Clippers with 14 points. Katie Douglas added eight. Autumn Carter led the Raiders (6-8, 2-5) with 13 points.
Springfield 66, East Palestine 30
EAST PALESTINE -- Whitney Yaeger scored 18 points and Melissa Huffman hit four 3-point goals to pace Springfield (5-9, 4-5 ITCL Tier One).
Huffman finished with 14 points, while Erin Reese led East Palestine with 10 points.
