New Save-A-Lot storewill open in Sharon
SHARON, Pa. -- Nemenz Save-A-Lot is expanding to the city of Sharon. Sharon Mayor Bob Lucas said the Poland-based grocery chain is opening a new Save-A-Lot store in March in the former Pat Catan's at the City Centre Plaza which is also home to Reyer's Shoe Store. The new grocery store will employ between 26 and 30 people and have estimated gross yearly sales of 6.3 million, he said. Lucas said it has been more than 20 years since a grocery store was part of the downtown and Save-A-Lot's commitment of more than 1 million is exciting. One part of the city's downtown strategy is to increase foot traffic and provide needed services, and Nemenz Save-A-Lot will do both, the mayor said.

IRS: Taxpayers havetill April 17 to file
WASHINGTON -- Taxpayers around the country will get an extra two days, until April 17, to file 2006 returns and pay taxes owed, the Internal Revenue Service said Wednesday. The two-day reprieve comes about because April 15, the usual tax day, falls on a Sunday this year and April 16 is Emancipation Day, a legal holiday in the District of Columbia. The IRS said holidays observed in the nation's capital have an impact nationwide.
