Wilson bounces back for victory

YOUNGSTOWN -- The Wilson High basketball team rebounded from a 12-3 first-quarter deficit Tuesday to pull past Struthers, 61-54.
LaMarr McQueen led the Redmen (5-7) with 14 points while Justin Bryant and Ray Poindexter each added 11.
Bryant had eight of his 11 points off the bench in the third quarter while McQueen and William Johnson scored seven each in the final quarter. Johnson also had eight rebounds.
Struthers (6-6) was led by Matt Kukura with 21 points.
Canfield 62, East Liverpool 46
CANFIELD -- Sean Baker had 22 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists while Joe Carbon had 15 points and nine rebounds to spark Canfield (10-2, 6-1 Metro Athletic Conference). Matt Keating added 10 points.
Joe Wines scored 13 points, Donnie Green 11 and Matt Phillips 10 to lead East Liverpool (2-8, 1-6 MAC).
Campbell 73, Chaney 45
YOUNGSTOWN -- Jermaine Richardson fired in 24 points while Bryant Burt delivered 21 for Campbell. Jerahme Williams and Thomas Hall each contributed nine points to the Red Devils' attack.
Victor Toney had nine points and Sir Franklin eight to pace Chaney (1-12).
Mooney 64, Fitch 57
AUSTINTOWN -- Mooney High had a 45-26 lead at the end of the third quarter and held on for the victory in the Falcons' gymnasium.
L.J. Sutton sparked the Cardinals (3-10) with 21 points. Jose Morales chipped in with 15.
Bill Jones, who had 12 rebounds, and Jon Stockman led the Falcons (2-11) with 21 and 14 points respectively.
Youngstown Christian 58,Warren Christian 36
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Eagles (12-2) held Warren Christian (5-8) to four points in the first quarter, eight in the second and nine in the third in building a commanding 43-21 lead.
John Pecchia and Ed Gonda each scored 12 points for the Eagles. Olonzo Johnson pulled down 10 rebounds and Gonda nine. Anthony LaGamba had five steals.
Dan Jolly led Warren Christian with 10 points.
West Branch 68,Akron Springfield 58
BELOIT -- The Warriors had five of their players produce eight 3-point baskets during the contest as they built a commanding 49-32 lead heading in the fourth quarter and held on for the victory.
Kyle Rockwell paced the Warriors with 20 points. Vic Pappas, who connected on two 3-point baskets, added 17.
