Girard police seek man who shoved woman from van

GIRARD — Police are looking for a man accused of pushing a Youngstown woman out of a moving van early today.

Officers found the 22-year-old Oak Street woman in the foyer of a Park Avenue apartment building just after 2 a.m.

Reports said the woman appeared to have been beaten and was bleeding.

The reports say the woman told officers she had been picked up in Youngstown by an unidentified male friend and was being given a ride to another friend’s house in Liberty Township.

She told officers that she drank beer and smoked crack cocaine while riding with the unidentified male.

The woman told officers that the unidentified male, who she said was drunk, determined he wanted her out of his vehicle while driving along Church Hill Road. She told officers the man reached over, opened the door and pushed her out of the van.
