Boardman school board appoints coaches



BOARDMAN -- The board of education appointed coaches for winter and spring sports Monday.
The board hired four people who work in the district. They include Thomas Basista and Albert Dohar, who as the Glenwood Middle School boys head track coach and the high school bowling coach, respectively, each will earn 3,013 for the season.
John Hay, appointed head high school baseball coach, will be paid 4,519, and Jeffrey Lane, named high school Saturday recreation program adviser, will be paid 904.
The board also awarded coaching contracts for two positions that were posted for licensed district employees to apply but weren't filled.
Timothy Klacik will earn 3,013 as Center Middle School head wrestling coach, and Dr. Craig Mangie will earn 4,218 as Center girls eighth-grade basketball coach.
Four volunteer coaches also were appointed. They are John and Michael Dohar as high school bowling coaches and Mary Mangie and Paul Struharik who will coach Center's girls eighth-grade and boys seventh-grade basketball, respectively.
