Girard High locked down, bullets found

GIRARD — Girard High School was locked down Monday afternoon when two bullets were found in a restroom.

Police Chief Frank Bigowsky said the .22-caliber rounds were found in a restroom. The school was locked down as police searched some lockers. No gun was found.

“We have a pretty good idea where the investigation is going,” Bigowsky said when asked if police have suspects.

He noted that students were released from classes on time.

Last week, 10 young people, including six students, were charged with drug offenses for allegedly selling marijuana within 1,000 feet of school district property, making the charges felonies. Police had made marijuana buys from all 10, they said.
