Youngstown man injured in shooting
YOUNGSTOWN -- A city man was taken to the hospital Friday night after two unidentified men opened fire on the car he was driving.
William Slade, 27, of LaClede Avenue was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center for a gunshot wound to the back after the 2007 Dodge Charger he was driving was sprayed by gunfire at 6:02 p.m. His condition was not available late Friday.
Police said Slade was driving eastbound on Ferndale Avenue when somebody in a gold Ford Contour opened fire, causing him to run into a parked car.
Slade told police he had been warned not to drive the Charger -- which was a rental car -- because there were two men who were trying to harm someone who owned a Charger.
