County workers to hear details on deal

WARREN -- Trumbull County workers covered under contracts for three unions will meet Wednesday to hear details of a tentative agreement.
The tentative pact was reached this week between the three American Federation of State, County & amp; Municipal Employees locals and the county.
No details of the county's offer are being released until workers receive the details Wednesday, said Diane Namish, president of Local 2493 and an employee of the treasurer's office. The local represents 136 employees in the treasurer's office, clerk of courts, building inspection, sanitary engineer's, vehicle and building maintenance and commissioners office.
Two other unions, Local 3808 representing 51 workers in the Child Support Enforcement Agency and 3808A representing eight workers in the recorder's office will also attend the meeting.
Candy Hurton, union steward for 3808A and an employee in the recorder's office, said no vote would be taken that day. A vote will likely be scheduled soon after that, she said.
The unions extended their contracts with no pay increase a couple of times since their last agreement ended July 31, 2005.
The meeting will be held at 5 p.m. at the United Steelworkers union hall on Park Avenue in Warren.
