RALEIGH, N.C. -- Freshman Brittany Mitch scored eight of her 10 points during a decisive spurt that helped Duke dodge a letdown. Playing for the first time since upsetting Maryland and taking over the Terrapins' top spot in the rankings, the Blue Devils (19-0, 5-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) shook off a slow start and used a 27-8 run that bridged halftime to take command and remain one of two unbeaten teams in both the country and the conference. Lindsey Harding added 10 points for Duke, which shot 43 percent and led by 21 in its 10th straight victory against the Wolfpack. Gillian Goring had 15 points and 10 rebounds to lead N.C. State (13-6, 2-2), which had its 10-game home winning streak snapped.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- Reserve Alex Miller scored 15 points, Ivory Latta added 14 and North Carolina held Georgia Tech to its lowest score ever. Camille Little added 12 points and Jessica Breland 10 for North Carolina (21-0, 5-0 Atlantic Coast Conference). Reserve Jacqua Williams scored 11 to lead the Yellow Jackets (11-7, 2-3), who had no starter with more than four points.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Fourth-ranked Tennessee got a glimpse of life without Candace Parker, when Sidney Spencer scored 18 points and Shannon Bobbitt added 13. Team officials said Parker did not play because she was sick. She sat on the bench with her teammates wearing her warm-up suit during the game. Alex Fuller, who started in place of Parker, and Alexis Hornbuckle each had 12 points for Tennessee (17-1, 4-0 Southeastern Conference).

BATON ROUGE, La. -- Sylvia Fowles scored 16 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, and LSU beat Kentucky for its 40th consecutive victory at home. Fowles did most of her damage in the second half as the Lady Tigers (17-2, 3-1 Southeastern Conference) protected their 18-point halftime advantage.

TEMPE, Ariz. -- Danielle Orsillo scored 16 points to lead five Arizona State players in double figures and the Sun Devils routed UCLA. Aubree Johnson added 15 points, Dymond Simon 14, Jill Noe 13 and Briann January 10 for Arizona State. Arizona State (17-2, 7-1 Pac-10) led by as many as 24 in the first half and 44 in the second, handing UCLA (9-11, 3-5) its most one-sided loss of the season.

WASHINGTON -- Kimberly Beck scored 17 points and George Washington pulled away after halftime to beat Rhode Island, giving the Colonials the best start in the program's history. The Colonials (15-2, 4-0 Atlantic 10) won their eighth straight and topped the 14-2 start of the 1999-2000 team that finished 26-6 and advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament. Jessica Adair scored 16 points and had nine rebounds for the Colonials, and Kenan Cole added 11 points.

EVANSTON, Ill. -- Fahkara Malone scored 13 points and Lindsay Wisdom-Hylton added 12 to lead Purdue. Katie Gearlds and Wisdom-Hylton each had five steals for Purdue (17-3, 6-0 Big Ten), and Gearlds added seven assists. Erin Lawless had 10 points, going 6-of-6 from the free throw line, and three steals.

ATHENS, Ga. -- Ashley Houts scored a career-high 21 points and No. 16 Georgia broke open a close game. Georgia, coming off a 52-41 home loss to No. 4 Tennessee, regrouped offensively with four players scoring in double figures. Tasha Humphrey scored 18 points, and Janese Hardrick added 17 points and eight rebounds for Georgia (15-4, 3-2 Southeastern Conference).

COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- Takia Starks, A'Quonesia Franklin and La Toya Micheaux scored 13 points apiece to lead Texas A & amp;M. Morenike Atunrase added 11 points and seven rebounds, and Patrice Reado and Katy Pounds each had 10 points for the Aggies (13-3, 3-1 Big 12). Starks also had seven rebounds. Jackie McFarland led the Buffaloes (8-8, 2-2) with 15 points and 13 rebounds.

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -- Chrissy Givens scored 27 points to lead Middle Tennessee State to its 13th consecutive victory. Amber Holt added 19 points for the Lady Raiders (16-3, 7-0 Sun Belt Conference) and freshman Brandi Brown came off the bench to score 12 points, all on 3-pointers. Adrianne Davie led the Indians (13-6, 7-2) with 16 points.
Iowa State 67, No. 22 Texas 56
AMES, Iowa -- Lyndsey Medders scored 23 points and had six assists to lead Iowa State. Toccara Ross added 15 points -- including 9-of-11 free throws -- for the Cyclones (14-4, 2-3 Big 12), who snapped a three-game losing streak.
No. 23 Michigan St. 66, Michigan 48
ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Victoria Lucas-Perry scored 23 and Myisha Bannister added 13 points and 10 rebounds to lead Michigan State. The Spartans (14-4, 5-1 Big Ten) have won nine consecutive against Michigan. The Wolverines' last win came in January 2002.

OXFORD, Miss. -- Ashley Awkward scored 22 points and hit four 3-pointers, and used a big early run to beat South Carolina. It was the first game for the Rebels (16-4 overall, 5-0 Southeastern Conference) since moving into the AP Top 25 on Monday. Armintie Price had 17 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists and Alliesha Easley added 10 points.
