ROAD PROJECTS Trumbull County

Trumbull County commissioners said Thursday that 1.3 million worth of 2007 county engineer road improvement projects will be carried out in late 2007 and early 2008. These projects will use 900,000 in state grant money and 400,000 in engineer's funds. The projects will include new pavement, upgrading of culverts, pavement markings and signage where necessary:
Niles Vienna Road, primarily in the southwest quadrant of Vienna Township but also including portions in Howland, Weathersfield and Niles. From Warren-Sharon Road to within 1,742 feet east of U.S. Route 422.
Bedford Road in the southeast quadrant of Brookfield Township. From Stewart-Sharon Road to Hubbard-Masury Road.
Ravenna-Warren Road in the northwest quadrant of Newton Township. From the Trumbull-Portage County line northest to the Newton Falls city limits.
Park Avenue on the border between Champion and Bazetta townships. From state Route 305 to Champion Avenue.
South Leavitt Road in the southwest quadrant of Warren Township. From the Lordstown village limits and north to Risher Road.
Warren-Sharon Road near the center of Howland Township. From state Route 46 west 4,128 feet to the pavement change near the state Route 5 overpass bridge.
Applegate-Sodom Road in the northeast corner of Liberty Township. From Sodom-Hutchings Road south to Warner Road.
Jones Road in the northwest quadrant of Liberty Township. From the Girard city limits east to state Route 193.
State Road in the southwest quadrant of Champion Township. From state Route 305 east to state Route 45.
Commissioners also approved a 1,779,225 bridge replacement and waterline relocation on West Park Avenue in Weathersfield Township just west of the city of Niles. Funding is 1,379,225 in federal highway money and 400,000 in Ohio Public Works grant money, and construction is expected to begin in late 2007.
Commissioners also approved a 185,000 bridge replacement and reconstruction of 300 feet of approach area on Mahan-Parker Road in Bloomfield Township. The one-lane steel bridge, which is currently closed, will be replaced with 127,650 in Ohio Public Works grant money and 57,350 in county engineer's funds.
