Turners observe 60th anniversary at family event

YOUNGSTOWN -- Mr. and Mrs. James Turner of Youngstown were joined by family members and friends as they observed their 60th wedding anniversary on Jan. 2 at their home.
The former Neather Thornton and Mr. Turner were united in marriage on that date in 1947 in Youngstown.
They are the parents of three sons, Alfonso Turner of Youngstown, Anthony Turner of Columbus and Alan Turner of Washington. There are two grandchildren in the family.
Mrs. Turner retired in 1986 from the Strouss/May Co.
Mr. Turner served with the U.S. Marine Corps from 1943 to 1946 and retired in 1986 after 39 years of employment with Republic Steel Corp. of LTV.
The Turners are charter members of VFW Post 6488 and are members of Mount Zion Baptist Church.
