BOARDMAN — Katie McConnell, a senior at Boardman High School, is somewhat of an expert in current events.
Niles McKinley senior Shane McGee portrays an Irish son in a strained relationship with his father and Maddie Stevens, a senior at Girard High School, delivers a 10-minute speech to rooms full of people several times a week.
The three are among the nearly 1,000 high school students from across the state who will compete this week at Boardman High School in the Ohio High School Speech League state tournament.
