Liberty man faces federal charges for bank robbery

LIBERTY — A township man accused of robbing one bank, then making threatening calls demanding money from that same bank and one other, will face federal charges.

Township police and FBI agents arrested Neil McNeil, 31, of Trumbull Court. Capt. Richard Tisone of the Liberty Police Department said McNeil is accused of going into the Key Bank on Belmont on Feb. 5 and showing the teller a note with a threat to blow up the bank if he was not given money. Police say he made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police are holding several pictures taken from the bank’s security cameras they say show McNeil in the facility.
