Lawsuit filed against driver, bar and bar owners in death

YOUNGSTOWN — A man serving three years in prison on charges stemming from a fatal accident, the bar that allegedly served him alcoholic drinks just before the crash, and its incorporators are being sued for more than $200,000.

The wrongful death suit was filed this week in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court by Evelyn Stargell, mother of the deceased, Edrow W. Stargell II, 18, of Liberty, and executor of his estate. Stargell died of injuries he suffered in a head-on collision on Nov. 19, 2005, at Mahoning and Maryland avenues.

Named as defendants in the suit are Stephan M. Carlomagna, an inmate at the Belmont Correctional Institute in St. Clairsville; the Dash Inn, a Mahoning Avenue bar; and its incorporators, Dennis B. Keener and William P. Ciccarelli Jr., both of Youngstown.
