Trumbull to have 44.5M coming in 2007

WARREN -- The Trumbull County commissioners, expected to approve a 42.5 million budget when they meet Thursday, will have 44.5 million available, the county budget commission said Monday.
The commission, which is made up of the county auditor, prosecutor and treasurer, certified that the county's sales taxes will bring in about 19.7 million, or about 700,000 less than in 2006.
Adrian Biviano, county auditor, said the county starts with a carry-over of about 3.6 million in sales tax revenue. The amount of carry-over in the fund at the end of 2007 will be determined by economic conditions, he said.
Of the 44.5 million available, commissioners plan to budget about 42.5 and put 500,000 into retroactive pay for the sheriff's department, leaving a cushion of 1.5 million, Biviano said.
The budget will contain about 513,000 in capital improvements and another 650,000 available for contingencies such as vehicle purchases, Biviano said.
