General Fireproofing retirees to receive money


YOUNGSTOWN — Retirees of General Fireproofing are splitting $840,000 as the bankruptcy case of the former company winds down.

Payments of $827 are being mailed to each former hourly worker who was retired when the company filed for bankruptcy protection in 1990, said Gary Steinbeck, a representative for the United Steelworkers of America.
