Aqua says Trumbull takes risk with water project

WARREN — Though the Trumbull County Sanitary Engineer’s lawyer is optimistic that Aqua Ohio’s lawsuit against the county will eventually be settled in the county’s favor, an Aqua Ohio official says the county is taking a gamble.

Walter J. “Buzz” Pishkur, president of Aqua Ohio, says the county is gambling on winning the lawsuit that Aqua Ohio filed against it last March, by the county’s proceeding with a change from Aqua water to Niles water in four southeastern townships.

Aqua sued the county after the county took steps to build a waterline and booster station to provide water to 2,800 customers in Vienna, 90 percent of Brookfield, and portions of Hubbard and Liberty townships. The county will be switching over the water service for the next four to six weeks.
