Founded in 1982, the Akron-based company is the world's third-largest privately held operator of call centers. It is also a leader in customer care services, commercial sales and marketing for Fortune 500 companies and smaller businesses.
In 2006, InfoCision Management Corp. generated the highest sales figures in its 24-year history, and each of its six divisions experienced growth.
It operates call centers at several locations in Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Locally, it has centers in Youngstown, Austintown, Boardman and New Castle, Pa.
InfoCision does some telemarketing, but most of its work is in fundraising and volunteer recruitment for charitable, religious and political organizations -- categories not affected by the do-not-call legislation.
About 85 percent of InfoCision's calls are outbound, but the company's biggest growth area is inbound, customer service type calls.
