Stray bullet hits 11-year-old girl


YOUNGSTOWN — City police are attempting to discover how an 11-year-old girl sitting in her home Sunday afternoon received a bullet wound to the thigh.

According to a police report, the girl was sitting in the first floor of 505 W. Ravenwood Ave. on the South Side at 1:54 p.m. when she was struck.

The gunfire came from outside the home, although police don’t know who fired it.

The girl, whose name was not released, is in stable condition at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
