Mooney records fifth straight in routing Beaver Local, 74-42



YOUNGSTOWN -- L.J. Sutton had 22 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Mooney High boys basketball team to its fifth straight win, defeating Beaver Local on Friday, 74-42.
Mike Zordich added 11 points for the Cardinals (8-11), who took a 16-7 first quarter lead. Noah Traylor had eight points, seven assists and five steals and Brandon Beachum grabbed 10 rebounds.
Ethan Russell scored 12 points and D.J. Taylor had 10 for Beaver Local (2-18).
Warren JFK 74, Rayen 72
YOUNGSTOWN -- J.J. Townsend had 22 points, four rebounds and two assists for JFK.
Nick Brown added 22 points and four rebounds (12-7) while Desmar Jackson had 20 points, 10 rebounds, three steals, four assists and two blocks.
Tomaz Hilton scored 20 points to go along with eight rebounds, three steals and three assists for the Tigers (5-13), who will play their final game at Rayen tonight.
Kenny Carter added 17 points, five rebounds and two assists.
Warren Harding 70, Chaney 40
YOUNGSTOWN -- Damian Eargle registered 16 points, Elijah Jordan 12 and Sheldon Brogdon 11 to lead Warren Harding, which enjoyed 11 players in the scoring act.
Evan Busch tallied 12 points to lead Chaney (2-17).
