Gingrich to speak at charity event



MEADVILLE, Pa. -- Former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Newt Gingrich will be the keynote speaker at an event to raise money for charities.
The event will be March 16 at Meadville High School.
Gingrich, touted as a 2008 Republican presidential candidate, will discuss the future of small businesses and the economy.
The doors to the high school at 930 North St. will open at 4:15 p.m., with Gingrich expected to speak about an hour later.
Tickets are 250 each or 350 for a couple. Tickets can be obtained online at www.excaliburcharities.com or by calling (800) 611-4931.
All proceeds will benefit Crawford County charities, including hospice and women's services organizations.
The Excalibur Charitable Foundation was established in November 2005 by Eric Hoover, owner of four business in the Meadville area including Excalibur Machine Co., a heavy-steel fabricating and machining company.
