Local traffic only for North Road site

HOWLAND — Though some people might not realize it, the North Road area undergoing massive reconstruction has been designated for local traffic since the project began, an official said.

Mike Sliwinski, project coordinator for the Trumbull County engineer,   said he believes non-local motorists may still be using this part of North Road. “Local traffic only” means only people who live on North Road or one of it, side streets, or have business there, Sliwinski said.

He said traffic was “bumper to bumper ”   in the project area earlier this week when he inspected potholes that developed because of warmer temperatures and rain. Following complaints about potholes that developed in the lane still open to southbound cars earlier this week, the contractor working on the project began monitoring the pothole situation round the clock, Sliwinski said. The project is in Howland and Warren.
