Reception to benefit museum, students

YOUNGSTOWN -- A reception featuring wine, microbrews, hors d'oeuvres, art and live music will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday at McDonough Museum of Art.
Titled "Mad About the Arts," the event will benefit McDonough and Students Motivated by the Arts (SMARTS), a partnership between Youngstown State University, city schools and several arts organizations.
Jazz guitarist Frank Castellano will play during the preview reception from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Geo C and Tha Storm will play from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. On display in the galleries will be The End(s) of Photography: Modeling the Photographic, an exhibition of painting and video that re-investigates the nature of digital imaging.
McDonough is located on Wick Avenue, near YSU. Tickets are 30 for McDonough members, YSU fine arts alumni, faculty, staff and students; and 40 for others. Call (330) 941-2787.
