Gold chain ripped from Austintown woman

YOUNGSTOWN — An Austintown woman told police she was robbed at gunpoint and had a gold chain ripped off her neck just before 3 a.m. today as she left Teenie’s Tavern on South Avenue.

The 35-year-old Compass West woman said a gunman wearing a ski mask and blue hoodie opened her car’s passenger side door before her male companion could lock it and yelled: “Give me all your money and gold!”

The suspect searched but found nothing on the male passenger and then grabbed the woman’s purse, cell phone, gold chain and keys. A second suspect stood by as lookout, reports show. Both suspects fled southbound toward Boston Avenue on foot.
