Florida rebounds, dumps S. Carolina

Mississippi State defeated No. 17 Vanderbilt in a night of upsets.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Al Horford scored 20 points, Chris Richard added a season-high 14 and third-ranked Florida rebounded from its first loss in more than two months with a 63-49 victory against South Carolina Wednesday night.
The Gators, whose 17-game winning streak was snapped Saturday at Vanderbilt, clinched the Southeastern Conference regular season championship and improved to 17-0 at home.
No. 12 Georgetown 75,Cincinnati 65
CINCINNATI -- Jeff Green scored 21 points and had a tone-setting block, helping Georgetown extend its winning streak to 10 games.
The Hoyas (21-5, 11-2 Big East) took control with a 13-point run late in the first half, and the league's toughest defense held off its worst team. Cincinnati (10-17, 1-2) has dropped nine in a row, its longest losing streak in 23 years.
Deonta Vaughn led Cincinnati with 19 points.
No. 13 S. Illinois 58, Indiana St. 50
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Tony Young scored 13 of his 15 points in the second half to help Southern Illinois win the Missouri Valley Conference regular season title outright.
Jamaal Tatum also scored 15 points for the Salukis (24-5, 14-3), who won their 10th straight.
Marico Stinson led Indiana State (12-16, 5-12) with 17 points, but it wasn't enough to prevent the Sycamores' fifth straight loss.
Mississippi St. 83,No. 17 Vanderbilt 70
STARKVILLE, Miss. -- Jamont Gordon recorded his first career triple-double -- and the second in school history -- with 15 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists as Mississippi State snapped a 13-game losing streak against ranked opponents.
Charles Rhodes had 23 points for the Bulldogs (16-10, 7-6), Dietric Slater added 18 points and Reginald Delk had 13.
Dan Cage led Vanderbilt with 12.
No. 20 Louisville 72, St. John's 48
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Terrence Williams scored 16 points, grabbed four rebounds and had four assists as Louisville rolled over listless St. John's. Louisville (20-8, 10-4 Big East) won its fourth straight and eighth in 10 games. Derrick Caracter added 12 points.
Anthony Mason Jr. led the Red Storm (15-13, 6-9) with 19 points and Lamont Hamilton added 12 points and nine rebounds.
Miami 68, No. 24 Virginia 60
CORAL GABLES, Fla. -- Jack McClinton scored 14 points, including two late 3-pointers to help Miami defeat Virginia.
Sean Singletary scored 17 points to lead the Cavaliers (18-8, 9-4 ACC).
Tennessee 69,No. 25 Alabama 66 OT
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Chris Lofton scored 20 points and JaJuan Smith added 16 as Tennessee rallied.
The Volunteers (19-9, 7-6 Southeastern Conference) improved to 15-0 at home this season.
The Crimson Tide (19-8, 6-7) came back from nine points down in the second half and struggled with a season-high 26 turnovers. Alabama's Ronald Steele forced overtime by tying it at 60 when he scored with 7.4 seconds left in regulation and Lofton's shot at the buzzer was way off.
In overtime, Alabama scored the first four points, but Lofton hit a 3 with 2:58 remaining. Tennessee didn't trail again, but it was a frantic ending.
Alabama's Jermareo Davidson was fouled going for a rebound with 9.6 seconds left and made both free throws to cut it to 67-66, but Tennessee's Duke Crews dunked at the other end to seal the win.
Reserve Mykal Riley led the Tide with 15 points, while Richard Hendrix added 10 points and 10 rebounds. Davidson finished with 15 rebounds.
Wayne Chism added 11 points for the Vols, who were 27-of-81 from the field. Tennessee got 20 points off Alabama's turnovers.
