c Truck stop: Bridge work ties up traffic

Mahoning Avenue west of Route 46 in Austintown looks like a parking lot for trucks. Road work on Interstate 80 at Meander Reservoir closed one lane of the interstate Wednesday, and many drivers looking for a way around the slowdown found their way to Mahoning Avenue via Bailey Road, said Sgt. Bret Henderson of the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Traffic made its way back to the interstate by turning off Mahoning onto Route 46, said Lt. Bryan Kloss of Austintown Police. Henderson said crews were still working on the road repairing large potholes late into the afternoon. He said that as soon as the repair work is done, the lane will reopen.
