Travaglini sells 27 restaurants

The new owner has plansto expand.
Travaglini Enterprises has sold its Perkins Restaurant & amp; Bakery locations to a private equity firm based in Pittsburgh.
Ray Travaglini, president of Travaglini Enterprises, said his Meadville, Pa.-based company will focus on its hotel operations. "It was time for a change," he said.
His company owns Holiday Inn Express hotels in Niles and Hermitage, Pa., and four other hotels in northwest Pennsylvania.
Unique Ventures Group of Pittsburgh bought the 27 restaurants, which are in the Boardman, Austintown, Cleveland and Erie, Pa., areas.
Marc Teaberry, former executive vice president of Travaglini Enterprises, has been named chief operating officer for Unique Ventures. As the sale negotiations progressed, Unique Ventures indicated it needed someone to run its restaurant operations, Teaberry said.
His plans are to build 10 Perkins restaurants in the next two or three years in eastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania.
Travaglini said that his main concern was to ensure that all of the Perkins employees would be retained by the new owners.
Unique Ventures Group will maintain an office in Meadville. It was created last year with the goal to acquire multiunit restaurant groups. It also operates 19 Damons Restaurants. Its partners are three investors who live in Pittsburgh and one who lives in Cleveland.
