23 provisional ballots are rejected by board

WARREN -- The Trumbull County Board of Elections rejected the provisional ballots cast by 23 county residents who voted during the Feb. 6 special election.
Provisional ballots are those cast by people who come to the polls with no voter identification, need to change their address, have a name change or other reasons, said Kelly Pallante, elections board director.
The elections board will meet at 3 p.m. Friday to certify the results.
The ballots were rejected Tuesday for the following reasons:
Seven people were not registered to vote.
Seven provided no identification, either on the ballot envelope or anywhere else.
Four people voted in the wrong polling place.
Three ballots were disqualified because of a pollworker error, in which the ballot stub had been removed.
One person had filled out the envelope incorrectly.
One filled out a provisional ballot because she wasn't sure whether her electronic vote had been cast correctly.
