A summary of recent criminal activity in Boardman:
BOARDMAN
Feb. 13
Theft: A 37-year-old Lowellville man was charged with theft after an employee at Kmart, 1209 Boardman-Poland Road, was accused of stealing items from the store.
Auto theft: A man in the 4800 block of Erie Street reported the theft of his 1999 Cadillac Seville from his residence.
Counterfeit: Someone passed a fake 20 bill at Gordon Food Service Marketplace, 7460 South Ave.
Theft: Officers made four arrests after DVDs and other items were stolen from Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive. Charged with theft were two Leetonia boys, 15 and 17, a New Waterford boy, 17, and an 18-year-old East Palestine man.
Counterfeit: A woman used two fake travelers checks to pay for a bedroom set at Sleepy Hollow Sleep Shop, 4931 Market St.
Theft: An Ohio Edison worker reported a bag containing work-related equipment stolen from his car while he was at Payless Shoesource, 48 Boardman-Poland Road.
Domestic violence: Police took a 41-year-old Boardman man into custody on a warrant charging him with domestic violence relating to a situation earlier in the month.
Feb. 14
Bad check: A customer passed a bad check to buy merchandise at Puzzlemania in Southern Park Mall.
Bad check: A worker at Architectural Ceramic Products, 631 Boardman-Poland Road, told authorities a bad check was used as payment to ship a product to another company.
Domestic violence: A 15-year-old boy was arrested at his Clifton Drive home on a domestic-violence charge after the boy's sister alleged he assaulted her. The teen also faced a charge of resisting arrest after police said he ran from officers.
Theft: Three newspaper boxes were stolen, each from a different location in the township. Police recovered two of the boxes in the 1200 block of Velma Court.
Domestic violence: Police charged a Youngstown man, 32, after his wife alleged the man assaulted her while the couple was at the Holiday Inn, 7410 South Ave.
Theft: A woman discovered 148 had been removed from her purse while she baby-sat at a home in the 4800 block of Grover Drive.
Arrest: A 38-year-old township man wanted on two warrants surrendered to police. He was charged with assault and menacing relating to an incident in January.
Feb. 15
Vandalism: A man in the 7000 block of Paxton Road reported damage to two of his hot water tanks.
Theft: A newspaper box was stolen in the 3900 block of Hillman Way.
Robbery: A worker at Dick's Sporting Goods, 1280 Doral Drive, told police that he was pushed while trying to stop someone accused of taking three fishing reels.
Theft by deception: A Wal-Mart employee reported that after someone bought a 190 stereo system, a second system was later returned after having not been paid for.
Theft/stolen property: Police made two arrests while investigating a theft at Sears in Southern Park Mall. A Youngstown boy, 13, was charged with theft after a pair of earrings was stolen; a 14-year-old boy, also of Youngstown, faced one count of receiving stolen property when officers said he had property that had been stolen from Spencer Gifts, also in the mall.
Theft: A woman reported two credit cards and 22 were removed from her purse while she was at Lockwood United Methodist Church, 4570 Lockwood Blvd.
Theft: An employee of Cocca's Pizza, 7185 Market St., said that a Lemans Drive man failed to pay for a delivery.
Arrests: A woman, 22, and a man, 26, both of Hubbard, surrendered to police. The two were wanted on felony charges of forgery, receiving stolen property and misuse of a credit card after being accused of stealing credit cards from a Hubbard resident, forging the victim's signature and making purchases at various Boardman businesses.
Arrest: A traffic stop in the township led to a 22-year-old Youngstown man's arrest. He was wanted on a warrant charging him with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
Feb. 16
Theft: Someone took and refused to return a wallpaper sample book to Paper Chase Wallcoverings, 5228 Market St.
Fraud: A Boardman man told authorities he received a letter requesting assistance to track down someone accused of cashing a phony check using the man's business name.
Theft: A woman found out that 120, a digital camera and a cellular phone were stolen from her purse while she was in the food court at Southern Park Mall.
Theft: A woman noticed a magnet had been stolen off her vehicle while she was in the 6000 block of South Avenue.
Drugs: An investigation near Market Street and U.S Route 224 led to the arrest of a 21-year-old Boardman woman on charges of possession of drug-abuse instruments and drug paraphernalia after police said she had three syringes and a suspected crack pipe. She also was wanted on two warrants.
Arrests: After pulling them over in the township, officers took into custody a man, 21, and a woman, 26, both of Youngstown. The man was wanted on three counts of receiving stolen property and two counts of forgery, and faced a separate charge of obsructing official business when police said he provided false information about his identity; the woman was wanted on a charge of passing bad checks.
Feb. 17
Vandalism: Police discovered a vehicle had been used to destroy a sign at Cortland Banks, 8580 South Ave.
Domestic violence: A Mathews Road man, 26, was taken into custody at his residence. He was charged with domestic violence after a woman alleged he struck her in the mouth.
Identity fraud: A Canterbury Lane woman found out her personal information was used to open two credit-card accounts last year.
Domestic violence: A 40-year-old woman was arrested at her South Schenley Avenue home and charged after a family member alleged she assaulted him.
