Lawrence voters to decide on government type


NEW CASTLE, Pa. — Lawrence County voters will get the opportunity to decide if the form of county government should be studied.

Two of the three current commissioners said they would agree to put the issue on the November ballot.

Nancy Bergey of the Lawrence County League of Women Voters spoke to commissioners today on behalf of the league asking that the issue be brought before the voters.

“Recent history denotes that our present form isn’t working,” Bergey said.
