A look at the four candidates nominated for the first open seat under Gov. Ted Strickland on the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio:
Charles Moses, of Dublin: president, Ohio Telecom Association, an umbrella group of phone companies that lobbies state government; former official in the administration of Gov. Richard Celeste; member of Strickland's transition team.
Gretchen Hummel, of Columbus: lawyer at McNees Wallace & amp; Nurick in Columbus; lobbyist for Industrial Energy Users-Ohio and Vectren Corp., a natural-gas utility that serves the Dayton area; former legal director for the office of Ohio Consumers' Counsel.
Paul Duffy, of Columbus: legal director of the PUCO since 1989.
Paul Centolella, of Worthington: an attorney and senior economist Science Applications International Corp., a consulting firm on energy and the military.
