Fanfare:
As a lifelong subscriber of the Youngstown Vindicator, and both being avid readers, my husband and I were looking for much more coverage on the recent success of Kelly Pavlik, our hometown boxer.
We do not know Kelly Pavlik, however, we follow his boxing skills from reading the Lowellville and Struthers Journals along with the little bits of sports coverage that The Vindicator offers.
We could have written the letter from Mike Koenig printed in your column a few days ago. His letter represents our words exactly.
Mr. Pavlik is only 24 years old and certainly is headed for a great boxing career, as well as bringing some much needed recognition to our area. My parents were, and are still, avid boxing fans, and we always supported this area's Golden Gloves for years. We all joined together to watch Kelly fight on HBO, as many of us do not have the HBO channel.
A great fight for a young boxer. Whatever you have against this young fighter we ask that you put your differences aside and support your home town in presenting much more coverage of his endeavors. We followed Ray & quot;Boom Boom" Mancini and Harry Arroyo and are thrilled that we now have a Kelly Pavlik to restart our area's great reputation for having some of the world's greatest boxers.

Editor: Like our readers, we are also proud of Kelly Pavlik's accomplishments. We disagree with your assertion that the two stories prior to his last fight and three afterwards were "little bits," and rest assured we plan to chronicle Pavlik's upcoming title fight and the remainder of his career.
