Columbiana woman injured in accident
LISBON -- A woman was taken by helicopter to St. Elizabeth Health Center after being injured in a traffic accident at 9:53 a.m. Thursday in Center Township.
Theresa Zeitler, who turns 47 today, of Columbiana, was driving south on state Route 45 just north of the village.
The Lisbon Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol said Zeitler lost control of her car on an icy road and collided head-on with a northbound sport utility vehicle driven by Susan Reynolds, 55, of Lisbon. Reynolds was taken by a family member to Salem Community Hospital, the patrol said. It was not clear if she was admitted. The hospital would not release any information.
Zeitler was charged with failure to control a motor vehicle.
Zeitler's car had to be cut apart to free a passenger, Virginia Hazen, 58, of Salem. She was not taken to a hospital, the patrol said.
Zeitler was in stable condition at St. Elizabeth's on Thursday evening, the hospital said.
