HUBBARD
Feb. 6
Bad check: A customer passed a check at Patton's IGA Super Center, 880 W. Liberty St., that was returned on a closed account.
Feb. 8
Assault: A 16-year-old student at Hubbard High School, 350 Hall Ave., reported getting into a fight with another student while the two were on a school bus.
Feb. 9
Arrest: A Hubbard woman was apprehended on charges of operating a vehicle under the influence, failure to maintain control of a motor vehicle and leaving the scene of an accident after two people reported seeing a driver hit another car and leave.
Feb. 10
Arrest: Police caught up to and arrested a 19-year-old woman after receiving a report of someone nearly striking a vehicle near Frankie's Main Street Cafe, 368 N. Main St., and driving twice on the sidewalk.
Arrest: Officers arrested a man in the 800 block of North Main Street on a warrant from Wayne County, Ohio, charging him with contempt of court. He also faced charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, reckless operation of a motor vehicle and driving under suspension.
LIBERTY
Feb. 8
Drugs: Officers pulled over a vehicle on state Route 193 and arrested a 20-year-old Youngstown man after saying that they found a suspected crack pipe in the car's door handle and that the man admitted white powder in a bag was crack cocaine. He was charged with drug abuse (crack cocaine) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Theft: Someone removed a 50 portable heater from a vehicle at Miller's Towing Services, 4100 Belmont Ave.
Theft: A worker at American Prime, 1057 Trumbull Ave., reported a 22-year-old man wrote a 130 check for 530 worth of merchandise and failed to fully reimburse the company.
Feb. 9
Stolen property: An employee with Home Savings and Loan, 3500 Belmont Ave., discovered that four checks totaling 985 that had been cashed last fall were stolen.
Feb. 10
Drug paraphernalia: Youngstown police handed over to Liberty authorities a 29-year-old Youngstown man who was wanted on a warrant from the township charging him with possession of drug paraphernalia.
Drugs: After stopping a vehicle on Belmont Avenue for a loud muffler, police arrested a Struthers woman, 45, on a felony warrant charging her with drug abuse. She also faced a separate count of driving under suspension.
Arrest: Authorities stopped a vehicle in the 2900 block of Belmont Avenue for having fictitious license plates and arrested a 54-year-old Youngstown man on charges of obstructing official business and resisting arrest. After trying to retrieve items from his car, the man tried to get into the cruiser's driver's side and grabbed an officer's belt, police said.
Felonious assault: Police arrested a 25-year-old Youngstown man staying at the Tallyho-tel, 4249 Belmont Ave. He was wanted on warrants from Franklin County, Ohio, charging him with felonious assault and abduction.
Assault: A Hubbard man suffered a chipped tooth and swelling near his eyes after he was punched in the face during a fight at Denny's Restaurant, 4020 Belmont Ave., he told police.
Feb. 11
Arrest: Officers took custody of a 20-year-old Youngstown man at a BP gas station, 2703 Belmont Ave. The man was wanted on charges of theft and forgery.
Criminal damaging: Someone caused 1,000 worth of damage to a driveway gate at a chiropractor's office in the 700 block of Liberty Street.
Feb. 12
Assault: An official with W.S. Guy Middle School, 4115 Shady Road, reported an assault. A 12-year-old pupil said another pupil, 11, attacked him.
Arrests: A traffic stop on state Route 193 led to the arrests of a Youngstown man, 26, and a Warren man, 24. The older man was wanted on a felony warrant charging him with a parole violation; the younger one was charged with carrying a concealed weapon after police said they found a fake handgun in the car.
GIRARD
Feb. 11
Assault: An East Liberty Street woman told officers a 22-year-old man hit her in the face and tossed a phone, striking her in the nose, as the woman attempted to intervene after she said the man tried to start a fight with her boyfriend.
Feb. 12
Attempted theft: An Elruth Court woman reported someone tried to cash at a nearby bank a 1,500 check that was in her husband's vehicle.
Feb. 13
Theft: A West Liberty Street man said his nephew, 19, likely took several medications from the victim's bedroom.
