Five ’ Cats scored in double figures to end the Clippers’ eight-game streak.
STRUTHERS — Keith Karas scored 19 points and four other Struthers players finished in double figures, as the Wildcats handed previously-unbeaten Columbiana a 78-73 defeat Friday night.
Matt Durkin added 18 points for Struthers (4-3), which led 35-33 at halftime. R.J. Ragan scored 16 points, Jason Sharpe finished with 12 and Nick Jacubec had 10.
Columbiana (8-1) was led by Josh Weikart, who scored 20 points. Joe Blinsky added 17, Kevin Blinsky scored 15 and Ryan Williams tallied 10.
Youngstown Christian 54, Leetonia 39
YOUNGSTOWN — Olonzo Johnson scored 18 points while John Pecchia and Victor Shaw added 12 apiece to lead Youngstown Christian (6-2).
Pecchia scored nine of his points in the first period to help Youngstown Christian open a 23-5 lead.
Andrew Trummer had nine points and Jake Kruegal eight to lead Leetonia.
Niles 59, Girard 41
GIRARD — Dan Rosenberger had 18 points and four assists to lead the Red Dragons.
Ryan Frantz also scored 18 points for Niles (3-5), which led 28-19 at halftime. Larry Sussman finished with 10 points and seven rebounds.
Girard (1-6) was led by Brett Cubellis with 14 points and four assists. Marty Brinker had six points and six rebounds.
Salem 62, West Branch 57
BELOIT — The Quakers outscored the Warriors 22-12 in the final quarter to rally for the win.
Phil Bennett had 18 points to lead Salem (6-2), while Austen Hutton added 13. Jordan Strabala and Zack O’Brien scored 12 and 11 points, respectively.
For West Branch (6-3), Vic Pappas scored 24 points and Trent Woods added 17 points and seven rebounds.
Mineral Ridge 59, Mathews 56
MINERAL RIDGE — Nick Mele scored 17 points and T.J. Bevilacqua added 13 to lead the Rams in a non-league game.
Justin Lasher finished with nine points for Mineral Ridge (4-4), which led 21-20 at halftime.
Mathews (4-4) was paced by Collin Bowsher with 16 points and Rick Sommers with 12.
Western Reserve 50, Lisbon 47
BERLIN CENTER — Nate Lude scored six of his team-high 12 points in the final quarter to enable Western Reserve to turn back Lisbon.
Lude had three 3-point goals while adding 10 rebounds and five assists, and Jay Lude contributed nine points for the Blue Devils (4-5).
Arlan Bailey had 18 points to lead Lisbon while Dustin Borg added nine — each getting three 3-point goals.
Malvern 86, United 52
MALVERN — Jimmy Phillis scored 16 points and Taylor Phillips added 10 for the Golden Eagles in a non-league game.
Jeremy Walker finished with seven points and five rebounds for United (5-3), which trailed 35-25 at halftime. Jason Ramus had four assists.
Tyler Tucci led Malvern with 25 points.
Ursuline 63, Frew Mill 52
FARRELL — Nick McCartney scored 16 points and Dominique Cole 12 to lead Ursuline to victory in Thursday’s first-round game of the Farrell Tournament.
The Irish pulled away with a 29-point second quarter led by Lavance Turnage with all seven of his points and John Colla with six of his eight.
Ursuline (5-2) defeated Farrell, 74-69, in the tournament championship game Friday night. The contest ended after deadline.
Farrell beat Hickory, 63-61, Thursday.
