CLUBS

• American Hungarian Club will hold a business meeting at 7 p.m. Monday at the clubhouse on Donald Avenue, Youngstown. Preparations will be made for Heritage Day to be held Sept. 9. A light buffet will precede the meeting at 5 p.m. Those attending are asked to take a casserole.

• Ohio Cultural Alliance will meet at 6 p.m. Sept. 10 at the Croatian Lodge 66, 3200 Vestal Road. The speaker will be the Rev. Joseph Rudjack, pastor of Sts. Peter and Paul and Our Lady of Hungary churches. The cost for the meeting is $13 for paid-up members and $18 for nonmembers.

• Youngstown South Christian Women’s Club will hold a “Good Ole Country Fair” meeting from noon to 2 p.m. Sept. 13 at Avion on the Water, 2177 W. Western Reserve Road, Canfield. Included in the event will be a country fair and live auction, music by soloist Roberta Dorsey and a talk on “A Busy Person Who Found Inner Peace” by Judith Barlowe of Strongsville. The cost is $12. GUILDS

• A meeting of the Embroiderers Guild of America will be held at 10 a.m. and again at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the IOOF Hall in Canfield. Linda Gwinnup will preside, and the featured project will be finishing a pumpkin taught by Lynn Houston. Visitors are welcome. • Girard Men’s Democrat Club will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Parkwood Youth Center.

• St. Rose Quilting Group will meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the parish house.

SERVICE CLUBS

• Girard-Liberty Kiwanis will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at The Golf Dome, 1300 N State St.

• Greenford Ruritan Club will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at the Ruritan Building at Canfield Fairgrounds. A work party will be held after the meeting.

SINGLES

• D.A.R.E., a social group for divorced, widowed or separated people, will meet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Disciples Christian Church, 565 Boardman-Canfield Road. Other activities include: Monday, bike riding at 6:30 p.m. on Kirk Road, Austintown; Tuesday dance lessons with Judy Conti at 7 p.m. at Wedgewood Plaza, cost $5; Wednesday, walking at 6:30 p.m. on Mill Creek trail; Thursday, music in Boardman Park at 6:30 p.m.; Sept. 1, bowling at 7:30 p.m. at Boardman Lanes; and Sept. 2, dancing at 7 p.m. at Choices at the MetroPlex Centre. • Alzheimer’s Assistance and Referral Network, 4212 Market St., Youngstown, has scheduled the following meetings: Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Boardman Easter Seals Center, 721 Boardman-Poland Road, and Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at Emmanuel Lutheran Education Building, 251 S. • Alzheimer’s Association Support Group for persons with early stage memory loss will meet at 1 p.m. Monday. The meeting is free and open to all people and their families who are affected by a diagnosis of cognitive impairment such as dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, vascular dementia, Lewy Body disease, etc. There is a brief screening process involved before participating in the group.
